Staff Biographies

Roxann Mitchell, RN, CNM
After working as a nurse at Hackettstown Community Hospital for 15 years,
Roxann's passion to improve a woman's labor and delivery experience led
her to become a midwife in 1992. She has since attended more than 500
births and was one of the pioneers of the waterbirth option now offered
at the hospital.
- Married with one daughter.
- Graduated in 1994 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey with a certificate in midwifery.
- Midwifery experience has been centered at Hackettstown Community
Hospital after one year at Lehigh Valley Hospital's Birth Center.

Cindy Redmond, RN, CNM
After working as a labor and delivery nurse at Hackettstown Community
Hospital, Cindy followed her passion to improve a woman's labor and delivery
experience by becoming a midwife in 1998. Gaining experience in birth
centers in Pennsylvania, Cindy joined Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates
in September 1998.
Married with three children. Recently caught her first grandchild, Abigail,
at a birth center in Pennsylvania.
- Graduated in 1998 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey with a certificate in Nurse Midwifery.
- Partnered with Roxann Mitchell to introduce the waterbirth
option at the Childbirth Center at Hackettstown Community Hospital.

Lisa Lederer, RN, CNM
Lisa was inspired to become educated in midwifery after the birth of her
second child at a birth center attended by a midwife. She brings to her
care 'the philosophy that birth belongs to women, not modern medicine....we
need to reclaim it as ours'.
- Married since 1987 and the mother of four children.
- Christian
- Beginning as an RN, graduated in 1994 from the University of Medicine
and Dentistry - School of Health Related Sciences.
- Work experience includes working in birth center settings in Pennsylvania
until starting with OB/GYN Associates in January 2001.
